- Book Anne Frank House six weeks ahead. Tickets go online every Tuesday at 10:00, for a visit exactly six weeks later. None at the door.
- You do not need a day trip for a windmill. There is a working one you can go inside, in the city. Zaanse Schans takes a whole day.
- The Rijksmuseum and Vondelpark are one trip. Museumplein sits on the corner of the park. That single fact saves most families half a day.
- Skip the stroopwafel cart on Kalverstraat. The good one is at the Albert Cuyp market, and it trades one day a week.
